Conceived by André Ricard, its name is a nod to the artist Lucio Fontana, who challenged art history by slashing his pristine oil paintings. His was an art for the Space Age that sought to transform pieces into experiments in a new three-dimensionality. Santa & Cole presents Fontana alongside a new floor-standing version, both in a white-painted steel finish. The pendant version, being the first, maintains its futuristic appearance thanks to the generous dimensions of its more than half sphere and the unmistakable slash that illuminates the periphery with indirect light. Its interior houses an efficient light panel that facilitates optimal vertical flow and directs the light gently, without glare.
