The "shape of light" is the central theme of this project by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti, which began with the Equatore family of lamps, introduced in 2017 and now expanded to include other finishes, and continues with the new Tropico. These are shapes of glass and metal that collect, contain, and diffuse light in space. Between opaline, colored, and transparent layers, accentuated by the refined curves and magic of blown glass, light is free to create surprising and mesmerizing effects, patterns, and moods. Tropico is a spherical cap of opaque opaline glass, flattened and held in place by a large mirrored metal cube.
