Born in postwar Germany, the Nagel family transformed spent brass cartridges into ashtrays, vases, and candlesticks. In the 1960s, Hans Nagel teamed up with artist Werner Stoff to design an elegant three-pot candlestick, inspired by a fall in the snow. The collaboration resulted in a piece that is both sculpture and functional object, emblematic of modern design's shift from utility to artistic expression. Decades later, the Danish firm STOFF Copenhagen revived the Nagel candlestick using Stoff's original designs, expanding the line with editions in brass, black, and other finishes, as well as reissuing complementary pieces such as bowls, stands, and vases, thus cementing its iconic presence in contemporary interiors.
