In 1986, while researching the best way to illuminate his library, Oscar Tusquets conceived a lamp that could adapt to any position on the shelf, take up little space, and go unnoticed. In his own words, what better than a book could he imagine?
Bib Luz has a metal body shaped like a book, designed to be placed on shelves, among real books. From the top of the spine, a thin arm extends with a point of light at its end, allowing it to illuminate or highlight any corner.
This lamp, highly acclaimed from its inception, was hailed as a manifestation of Tusquets's avant-garde genius, with the subtle but notable influence of his beloved Salvador Dalí. A couple of decades later, Bib Luz was honored by the great German designer Ingo Maurer, who launched a version called "Oskar" in 1998. This definitive Santa & Cole edition, produced in collaboration with the author, improves electrical performance thanks to its LED light source, reduces heat generation, improves light tone, allows for the serial connection of multiple copies, and offers two possible finishes for the book: white or metallic.
