Famous for the simplicity and mastery of his designs, Peter Hvidt (1916-1986) met Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen (1907-1993) at the Kunsthåndværkerskolens design school, where he began as her student and later taught alongside her. The two instantly formed a close friendship and later achieved their first success as a design duo after entering and winning the Swedish Slojdföreningen competition in 1943.
Known for the simplicity of their work, the duo established a simple and precise aesthetic, designing countless pieces of furniture over the years, many of which became icons of the era.
